Two warriors, very well equipped for the period. The one on the left wears a reconstruction of the late Roman Burgh Castle helmet and a mail shirt. The one on the right has a reconstruction of a Spangenhelm. Both are armed with a spear and longsword which is suspended on a baldric, and they also carry large shields. The shield on the right shows a typical early Anglo-Saxon carinated shield boss and is decorated with two pairs of bronze disks. The shields are faced with leather.
